More Than 50 Sick Dogs Dumped In Metn

The Ras El Metn dog shelter Give Me A Paw awoke to a horrific discovery days ago when they found that over 50 dogs had been dumped outside the doors of their shelter. The head of the initiative Tamara Abi Khalil revealed that the animals had previously been rescued by another shelter that transported the dogs on a large truck and left them at the Give Me A Paw shelter, despite the fact that the shelter claimed that they had been vetted and taken care of.

In the video, Tamara explains how the dogs were sick, malnourished, and dying, with many of the dogs even carrying highly contagious diseases.

The person behind this horrifically cruel and unlawful act was revealed on Twitter to be Maria Abdel Massih, someone who does not even have a license to own a shelter. Her actions were not only a violation of the Animals Protection and Welfare Law 47 but risked the lives of many healthy dogs that were already at Give Me A Paw.

Understaffed and unequipped to provide proper care to these dogs amid the financial crisis, many animal rights activists and NGOs are reaching out in order to help Tamara. Give Me A Paw has been working for many years to rescue and rehabilitate neglected dogs in Lebanon, supported by a team of devoted volunteers and animal rights activists.
