The annual list produced by The Worlds 50 Best Restaurants is out for the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region and we’re happy to see that
five Lebanese spots made the cut despite the hardship of recent years.
Amid an excruciating economic collapse, shortages in fuel and products, and a crushing financial crisis, these five spots still managed to serve exceptional food. It is also important to mention that all five spots were heavily impacted and destroyed by the Beirut explosion.
At number 12: Baron A farm-to-table menu that changes every so often, Baron has become well known for serving eclectic dishes that serve as a tribute to Lebanese flavors—always with a twist.
At number 21: Liza Serving up classic Lebanese dishes with a modern spin, Liza’s exceptional food is only made better by its remarkable setting: a 19th-century palace.
At number 22: Em Sherif The destination for delicious Lebanese food, Em Sherif’s empire has expanded across the MENA region and even Europe, popping up in London. Authentic meals executed perfectly each time, it is no wonder this spot made it to the list.
At number 28: Tawlet Mar Mikhael The newest addition to the exemplary Tawlet chain of great spots across Lebanon. Every day, a talented cook from a different Lebanese region will narrate the story of the origins of their menu and bring these traditions to life with a set of mouthwatering dishes and specialties. The restaurant also doubles as a farmer’s market for locally sourced goods.
At number 47: Clap Perched atop the Annahar building, Clap is a contemporary Japanese lounge serving up delectable sushi in a stunning setting. Fresh seafood and meticulously decorated dishes are served along crafted cocktails.
The number one spot on the list went to Dubai’s 3 Fils restaurant, an upscale Asian spot.
