Minister of Foreign Affairs Deactivates Twitter Account After Back And Forth With Citizens

We guess the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the caretaker government has gotten his wittle feelings hurt.

After refusing to sign a statement that ensured diverse media representation of the most vulnerable marginalized groups such as women and LGBTI persons in Lebanon at the Global Conference for Media Freedom 2020 AND defending his decision, it seems as though the backlash was little too much for Charbel Wehbi.

Lebanon was the only country out of 37 member states of the coalition to refuse to sign the statement

This evoked a back and forth with many reporters, citizens, and activists on Twitter who deemed his refusal to sign a disgraceful and embarrassing act that compromised press freedom and the lives of marginalized people, after which he deactivated his account.
