The economic crisis has struck again and taken out another fantastic Beirut business. We are sad to report that the iconic chicken sandwich vendor and restaurant
Marrouche has closed its doors.
A Beirut favorite since 1970, this local eatery first gained fame for their hearty chicken sandwich which kept people coming back for more.
Back in 2014, their original Hamra branch faced troubles and was closed by order of bankruptcy but they ended up reopening and expanding to Manara.
For generations, Marrouche’s chicken sandwich was named one of the best in Beirut. Loaded with tender and juicy chicken, golden French fries, crunchy pickles, and of course, a generous smear of their creamy and unforgettable garlic sauce. Take all that and grill it to perfection, and you’ve got the sandwich of dreams. It is so sad to see it go.
Note: The Sodeco spot Marroush is not affiliated with the original restaurant.
