This is not a memorized script, this is a well-rehearsed story.

Matta says, “I did not promise to tell you the truth, but I did promise to tell you a story.”

“This is not a memorized script, this is a well-rehearsed story” is an autobiographical solo performance about a failed love story, a complicated relationship with Beirut, and an attempt to understand gender and identity. How does a queer body cope and survive? This play is the character’s attempt to remember what led to all that she is and realizing that she is constantly failing.
