The Lebanese passport has made a notable jump in global rankings, securing the 89th spot in the Henley 2025 Passport Index, which assesses passport strength based on visa-free and visa-on-arrival access worldwide.
This marks a significant improvement from last year’s 95th position and Lebanon’s highest ranking in 15 years. The last time it ranked this well was in 2013-2014, when it placed 88th, according to Naqd Media.
Currently, Lebanese passport holders can travel to 44 destinations without a visa. While it remains far from the world’s most powerful passports, this progress is a shift from 2021, when Lebanon was listed among the Top 20 Weakest Passports.
