Enemy airstrikes have targeted not only highly populated areas but also Lebanon’s culturally significant landmarks. Recent attacks in Nabatieh have destroyed one of the city’s most beautiful heritage homes in the El-Seray neighborhood.

Like many centuries-old heritage homes in Nabatieh, it carried stories of the city’s past—its architecture a testament to Lebanon’s cultural richness. Its destruction is a devastating loss, not just for Nabatieh but for Lebanon’s collective memory, erasing a piece of history that connected generations.

These attacks on Lebanese heritage led to the destruction of the city’s historic souk, oldest heritage home, and the Cultural Council for South Lebanon.

The ancient city of Baalbek has also been witnessing such aggressions. Recent airstrikes destroyed a 100-year-old heritage home and caused damage to the historic Palmyra Hotel and the Qubbat Duris monument.

These sites, deeply rooted in Lebanese cultural history, represent not just architectural beauty but the cultural identity of an entire nation. Their destruction underscores the immense loss not only to local communities but also global history.
