Jets Coach Allegedly Fired Over Wearing Lebanese Flag

New York Jets coach Robert Saleh, who was hired back in 2021, wore a Lebanese flag patch on his uniform during a recent game against the Vikings.

Saleh, who is of Lebanese descent, was fired only days after. This made football fans speculate whether his support for his home country was the reason.

Some sports news outlets shrugged it off as a nod to his heritage. However, it’s hard to ignore that his decision to bear the Lebanese flag came after the violent airstrikes in Dahye. This isn’t the first time that Saleh bore this patch, as he also was last spotted wearing it in October 2023 as part of the NFL’s heritage program.

No official statements have been released regarding the termination of his position as head coach for the Jets. We will post updates as the situation progresses.
