Ma2wa: A Platform Helping the Forcibly Displaced Find Shelter

Since the beginning of the war, the occupation’s violent bombardment led to the forced displacement of an estimated 1.2 million people. Citizens have become homeless due to the widespread destruction of their homes, and a major challenge they continue to face is securing adequate shelter. We discovered Ma2wa, an online platform that connects forcibly displaced individuals with available accommodations across Lebanon.

Here’s how the website works:

The site provides an updated list of available accommodations in various regions across the country, making the process of finding shelter easier.

Users can browse available options based on location, number of individuals it accommodates, and/or cost.

Those with a house or apartment available can also add their own listing. There is an option to list the accommodation for free.

And if you’re looking to pledge financial donations to local initiatives, Ma2wa also lists a number of donation options for you to choose from.
