Taekwondo champ Laetitia Aoun made Lebanon proud after qualifying for the semi-finals and finishing 5th overall at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Competing in the Women -57kg category, the 23-year-old faced former Grand Prix gold medalist Skylar Park (Canada) in the Bronze Medal Contests, losing 2-0 with a rank of 5th. In taekwondo, athletes who lose the bronze medal contest rank 5th overall, as the sport awards two bronze medals.
Aoun ranks 14th worldwide in the World Kyorugi Ranking, which is a highly competitive discipline in taekwondo. Not only does her ranking make her among the top competitors globally, but as an Olympic qualifier and semi-finalist, she has consistently demonstrated her exceptional skill and determination on the international stage.
