Salon Zahle: a Sip of Coffee, a Journey to the Sixties

When Fairuz sang “saba7 w masa, shi ma byentasa”, she was referring to the beauty of all the simple things. Like sipping on fenjen ahwe in the morning and enjoying a delectable Lebanese breakfast. A wonderful spot in the heart of Zahle to relive Lebanon’s most vibrant era is Salon Zahle.

Paying homage to Lebanese heritage, you’ll be thrown into sixties Lebanon as soon as you step in. The café is decorated with vintage photographs on its walls and collections of old newspapers and books to give you a glimpse of a Lebanon you haven’t had the chance to experience.

If you’re planning a roadtrip to Zahle, you need to add this adorable coffee shop to your itinerary. A must-visit blast from the past, and a chance to experience all the flavors of Zahle.

They serve more than just coffee. Have a seat and chow down on their delicious offerings, all locally produced. You’ll fall in love with their traditional Lebanese breakfast, complete with servings of fresh labne, veggies, and bread. And make sure to ask for their locally made mouneh so you can take a piece of Zahle and their people back home with you!

But traditional Lebanese bites is not the only thing you can chow down on at this café. They also serve their own twist on the traditional kaake, and some of their star items include the akkawi special toast and halloumi bruschetta.

And after a delicious bite, stick around for a cup of Arabic coffee. Served in the signature fenjen we all know and love! A tight-knit group of friends can also enjoy a game of backgammon, which we think would make your coffee taste even better. Or you can opt for a freshly squeezed cup of juice as a refreshment.

This place is the perfect spot for friends to gather, enjoy an event, or simply escape the chaos. There are so many stories waiting to be told over a cup of coffee! And you never know who you might meet; everyone loves a good conversation over a delicious brew.

Where every sip of coffee will feel like a Fairuz song or an old story told by your teta and jeddo. The cozy café will grant you that much-needed dose of nostalgia.
