Rent & Read: You Can Now Rent Books For Cheap From Kitabi!

One of our favorite bookshops in Beirut, Kitabi has been making reading more accessible in light of the difficult circumstances in Lebanon. In a bid to ensure that the youth doesn’t shy away from reading due to the drastic increase in prices, Kitabi is making it possible to rent out their books for extremely affordable prices.

Their “Rent & Read” campaign offers readers the option to pick out a few books to rent, read, and return. Readers will be able to choose 3 books of their choice, read, and return them for $4!

Kitabi notes that these circumstances have denied children access to basic tools for education, and the dollarization of the Lebanese economy has made it more difficult for parents to secure the relevant books needed to aid in their children’s learning.

Earlier this year, Kitabi also launched their “Book For $1” initiative. Readers can join a group chat where the bookshop shares all their available collections of English, Arabic, and French books that they can purchase for $1 at the daily market rate.

By allowing people the option to rent books, Kitabi has not only made it much easier for readers to indulge in their favorite hobby but is also equipping children with the necessary tools they need to continue their education.
