No matter how many new burger joints open in Lebanon, with their bizarre ideas and cheese-coated creations, nothing will ever taste as good as a Lebanese burger—when it’s done right, of course.

Woodbox is a kiosk in the heart of Ghosta with a passion for creating the yummiest Lebanese burgers and sandwiches. Though we can go on and on about their toum-y Taouk and juicy kafta sandwiches, we have to salute their traditional Lebanese burgers.

First, let’s go over the ground rules and agree on what a perfect Lebanese burger really entails: a perfectly spiced beef patty tucked between fluffy buns, drenched in ketchup and topped with crispy golden fries and a bed of coleslaw. When the mayonnaise from the coleslaw mixes with the ketchup ever so slightly and the fries become just a little bit softer, that’s when you know you hit the jackpot.

And it’s easy to tell that just by looking at the Lebanese burgers at Woodbox. They are perfection. Just look at those clear-cut layers!

Their Lebanese burgers are so good that they decided to create a Lebanese cheeseburger. Same recipe, same perfect layers, but with an extra layer of melted cheese for flavor.
