The Nabu Museum in El Heri, is a gem in Lebanon’s cultural and museums scene. Nestled at the heart of Lebanon’s North, the Nabu Museum stands as a testament to the enduring power of human creativity and the history. It is named after the Mesopotamian god of literacy, Nabu and hosts a variety of ancient artifacts and modern exhibitions that make it a must-see in Lebanon.

The Nabu Museum boasts an impressive collection of Bronze and Iron Age artifacts from Mesopotamia, Rome, Phoenicia, Greece, and other cultures that have shaped the course of human history. Beyond its permanent collection, the museum constantly evolves with temporary exhibitions that celebrate contemporary artists and new visions of ancient themes. This dynamic approach makes the museum remains a vibrant, living entity that continues to inspire and challenge its visitors.

Its building itself should be in the museum. Designed by Iraqi-Canadian artist Mahmoud Obaidi and Iraqi artist Dia Azzawi, “the enveloping façade of the museum was fashioned of weathering-steel representing a monumental scripted relief based on a visual lexicon developed over their respective long careers in painting, drawing, sculpture, and print.”

Their current exhibition focuses on “The Early Arab Press,” with a rare collection of early Arab writing put on display from June 10, 2023 to September 16, 2023. Make sure to go and check out!
