Lebanese Designer Abed Mahfouz Moves His Atelier To Dubai Due To Lebanese Crises

As Lebanon goes through some of the worst economic, financial, and political stagnation crises in its history, brain drain is both inevitable and heartbreaking.

Through a post on his personal Facebook page, local designer Abed Mahfouz announced that he would be moving his Beirut-based studio to Dubai due to the crippling crisis.



“Since our nation has become a graveyard of dreams and our lives have been taken hostage by those playing with our fate, the Abed Mahfouz design studio will be moved to Dubai with only a small presence remaining in Beirut. This is due to the ongoing situation in Lebanon, with the hopes that we may return to a reborn country.”

The effect of this crisis on citizens and local talents will take decades to repair, and the ruling class is sitting by, business as usual.
