Behind the scenes, the Lebanese revolution – a largely leaderless movement – has been sustained by a vast network of ordinary people, dedicated to keeping the demonstrations alive.
Among these many superheroes is
Matbakh El Balad, an awesome voluntary initiative cooking up delicious meals to feed the revolution and its beautiful people.
Located in the parking spot facing DHL, Matbakh El Balad is serving homey meals like chicken hrisse, lentil soup, yogurt pasta, and more, all prepared with love and distributed to the huge and hungry crowds.
Had it not been for these heartwarming initiatives, the revolution might have lost steam a lot sooner. So kudos to everyone on the ground trying to make Lebanon a better place for others!
