Brutal Killing Of Dog By Anjar Municipality Police Caught On Tape

A graphic and troubling video showing the brutal killing of a dog in Anjar is being widely circulated on social media and causing outrage – as it should.

In the video, a municipality officer is seen firing several shots at the dog, striking it 6 times and leaving it dead and helpless.

The head of Anjar’s municipality later released a statement attempting to justify the incident, claiming that the dog was a “danger” to the people.

This heartbreaking incident is not the first of its kind in Lebanon, with all similar incidents seeming to involve municipal members who have zero knowledge and training on how to deal with stray animals, resulting in horrendous acts of violence. Needless to say, they also lack in humanity.

We hope proper measures are taken to hold the Anjar municipality accountable, and to prevent similar encounters from ever happening again.
