Record Breakers: 15 Guinness World Records Lebanon Holds
Lebanese people just love to make a scene, usually involving an obscene amount of food. From runners to mosaic flags, and, you guessed it, a whole lot of food, here are all the Guinness World Records that Lebanon currently holds.
1. The largest notebook mosaic – flag

Made of 60,000 notebooks that were placed on the Green Field at AUB, this record-breaking event took place in 2018 as a part of a student-run campaign called ‘Share the Flag.’ The notebooks were later donated to an array of Lebanese public schools to promote accessibility of education around the country.
In September of 2016, the city of Batroun broke the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest seafood display, consisting of 2613.8 kilograms of fish.
4. The largest number of model sports cars and dioramas
Former professional race car driver Nabil Karam is a three time Guinness World Record holder for having the largest number of model sports cars – almost 40,000 of them – and dioramas. His massive collection is showcased at the Billy Karam Museum in Zouk Mosbeh.
5. The world’s longest man’oushe

A 32 meter long man’2oushe was baked at the Amjad school in Choueifat in 2017, breaking the previous record – also held by Lebanon, in 2015.
6. The world’s largest iftar table
Last Ramadan, Lebanon broke the record for the world’s largest iftar table – hosting up to 5,000 diners at Beirut Waterfront. The event was organized by a non-profit organization called Ajialouna.
7. The most TV interviews conducted in 12 hours

This record was broken last year by Dalia Freyfer. She conducted 43 interviews in the short amount of time on Télé Liban.
8. Largest bowl of Hummus
Chef Ramzi Choueiri used the help of students from Al-Kafaat University to break this world record in May of 2010.
9. Most simultaneous car donuts by the same driver
Achieved by Naji Bou Hassan in Beirut, in September of 2017.
10. Largest bowl of Falafel
The largest serving of falafel weighed 5,173 kilograms and was another record broken by Lebanese chef Ramzi Choueiri with the help of students from Al-Kafaat University in May of 2010.
11. Largest cereal box

The largest cereal box in the world was revealed at Jounieh Old Souks in October of 2016, organized by Daher International Food Company/Poppins – with a cereal box containing 2.7 tons of corn flakes. This event also broke the record for the largest breakfast attendance, seeing over 1,800 people eating cereal together in Jounieh.
12. Largest kibbe
Weighing 233 kilograms, the world’s largest kibbe was made by the Almidan NGO in Lebanon in August of 2009.
13. World’s largest hotel suite

The world’s largest hotel suite is the Royal Suite at the Grand Hills Hotel & Spa in Broummana.
14. The tallest coleus plant

Grown in Zouk Mosbeh by Tanos Hage, this record was broken in December of 2015.
15. Largest dabke dance
Consisting of 5,050 dancers in Matn, this record was broken in 2011.
