Heart-shaped amethyst formations recently went viral on X (formerly Twitter), racking up over 5 million views in under three days. But did you know you can actually see them in person—right here in Beirut?

The stunning crystals were excavated and are proudly on display at the MIM Museum in Beirut.

What Is the MIM Museum?

The MIM Museum houses one of the world’s most impressive private collections of minerals—curated by Salim Eddé since 1997. With over 1,800 mineral specimens from 70+ countries, the museum blends science, art, and nature into a mesmerizing experience.

Visitors can explore beautiful crystals, rare gemstones, and 200 marine fossils, some of which were discovered in the Lebanese mountains. Highlights include interactive exhibits, stunning lighting displays, and the one-of-a-kind “Mimo” fossil—a complete pterodactyl specimen found only in Lebanon.

Before you leave, don’t miss the museum shop, where you can start your own crystal collection with handpicked treasures from around the world.
