Shock Over Termination of Ogero Head Imad Kreidieh

Newly-elected Minister of Communications Charles Hajj has unexpectedly issued a contract termination notice to Imad Kreidieh, the Chairman Director General of Ogero. The decision has taken many by surprise, especially given that Kreidieh’s contract was set to run until October 2025.

The reason cited for the termination was Kreidieh’s alleged failure to cooperate in providing necessary data to the Ministry. However, local newspaper Al-Akhbar claims that Kreidieh was never formally asked for the data in question.

The dispute stems from differing interpretations of jurisdiction between the Ministry and Ogero. The Ministry believes it had the right to request certain information, despite the contract terms between both parties.

This abrupt move has raised questions about the underlying tensions between Hajj and Kreidieh, especially after several attempts by the Minister to gain administrative insight into Ogero’s operations.

The sudden termination of Ogero Head Imad Kreidieh, without explanation, raises concerns about the future of telecom services. The change in leadership raises questions about the continuity of operations and whether there will be any immediate disruptions. Many are now wondering who will replace Kreidieh and what impact their leadership could have on the telecom sector.
