Batroun might be known for its crystalline waters and stunning seaside spots, but we think our new favorite attraction is this unexpected pairing: a pelican and Lebanese fisherman enjoying the weather. Only in Batroun will you find a pelican and Lebanese fisherman becoming best friends.

How did Bajou3a end up in Batroun?

Bajou3a sought refuge at the fisherman’s port after she was injured and could no longer fly. It was there that she met Assal, a fisherman who spent his days caring for her.

The pelican has since become part of everyday life in Batroun. Locals and visitors alike have come to know her as a beloved figure, often spotted by the famous restaurant Oyster eating fresh fish or happily strolling through the streets of Batroun.
