Did You Know the Creator of This Viral Game is Lebanese?

Ever heard of the game Split Fiction? The viral action-adventure game was developed by Hazelight Studios, a video game development company run by Swedish-Lebanese film director and video game designer Josef Fares.

People have been loving this game since its release earlier this month! One particular clip is making rounds on social media because, of course, Fares couldn’t resist adding a Lebanese touch.

There’s a scene in the game where your character is on a call with someone demanding their stolen motorcycle back. You can hear him screaming, in typical Lebanese fashion, “Where’s my bike ya akhou l sharmouta? Bring it back! Look, if you don’t bring back my bike, I will find you and neek okht l bazarak ya akhou l manyouke men fo2 la taht kes ekht l jebak!”

Josef Fares himself did the voice acting, which probably explains why it sounds so convincing. You can watch the clip here:

We’re pretty sure Lebanese gamers haven’t been this excited since seeing the Lebanese flag on Lieutenant Nora Salter’s uniform in Call of Duty. If we’re getting any representation, we’re glad it’s our anger issues.

You can find more details about the game here. And if you’re curious about the gameplay, here’s the trailer:
