Is Beirut Going to Have Its Own Fashion Week?

Beirut has long been a hub for fashion and creativity, but could the city finally be getting its own official Fashion Week? Here’s what we know.

Lebanon is set to elevate its fashion industry with the launch of the Fédération Libanaise de la Mode. The Arab Fashion Council and Lebanon’s Ministry of Economy and Trade announced its establishment after signing an agreement in 2022. The Federation will serve as Lebanon’s official fashion body, aiming to promote Lebanese designers globally, attract investment, and drive economic growth.

Arab Fashion Council CEO Jacob Abrian and Chief Strategy Officer Mohammed Aqra emphasize the Federation’s role in positioning Lebanon as a global fashion hub while preserving its cultural heritage.

The initiative will connect Lebanese talent with international investors and industry leaders to build a sustainable and thriving fashion ecosystem. The Federation’s board members and strategic plans will be unveiled at an upcoming landmark event in Beirut.

The BFW website, inactive since 2017, now hints at a potential return with show dates set for November 23-26, 2025. It is unclear as to whether the previous BFW organization is affiliated with Lebanon’s new fashion federation.

Nevertheless, the upcoming event could mark a significant shift for the city’s fashion scene!
