Lebanese singer and actress Haifa Wehbe, alongside fashion blogger and women’s rights advocate Nour Arida, have collaborated to shed light on the pervasive online harassment that women endure.
In a powerful video, both women share disturbing comments and messages they’ve received, exposing the dark side of social media. By speaking out, they aim to raise awareness and push for stronger protections against online abuse.

The two take turns reading out disturbing and sexually explicit comments under their social media posts, projecting them on a screen. Wehbe reads one comment that says: “She dresses like that in public then claims harassment and rape are crimes? Isn’t her seductive behavior the real crime?”
She follows up with “What this reveals is that they’ll always find a way to shame a woman’s body,” before the two proceed to read out a number of disgusting messages, which Arida refers to as “online rape”.
Under the campaign #HarassmentIsNotVirtual, both women call for better protection against online abuse, stressing the need for laws that hold individuals accountable. They emphasize that while online harassment may occur on a screen, it has real emotional and psychological consequences. This behavior, if left unchecked, leads to its normalization in real life.
Their message is simple: online harassment is not just a virtual problem—it’s a serious issue that affects real people.
