Did You Know We Had a Lebanese Version of ‘Friends’?

Here’s yet another reason for every How I Met Your Mother fan to recognize that Friends is the superior sitcom. It’s so iconic that we have a Lebanese version of it. Here’s what we know about the Lebanese version of Friends.

The Lebanese ‘Friends’ was a Christmas episode that aired on MTV Lebanon years ago, and it’s literally all our favorite characters played by Lebanese actors. The cast included Adel Karam, Nathaly Naoum, Ghada El Khelly, Roula Osta, Samer El Gharib, and Ghazy Feghaly.

They even recreated the iconic opening theme song. You can watch it here:

This TikTok account (@Oldies.leb) that posts throwbacks from old Lebanese shows and movies even shared a few scenes from the episode:

Sorry, How I Met Your Mother, but do you have a tacky Lebanese rendition of your show? Nope. Even though it’s only a Christmas parody, it would have been interesting to see how the producers would have transformed the show if it were a real Lebanese sitcom.
