Khan Al Saboun Provides Shelter and Workshops for the Displaced

In response to the urgent need for support, Khan Al Saboun, a centuries-old business in northern Lebanon, has stepped up to assist the forcibly displaced by offering shelter and educational workshops.

The soap-making factory has so far offered 41 apartments in the Bader Hassoun Ecovillage, where nearly 180 displaced families are currently residing.

Khan Al Saboun is also holding educational workshops about the art of soap-making and its history in Lebanon. These workshops not only impart valuable knowledge but also offer displaced individuals the opportunity to participate in a time-honored craft.

The educational program was carefully created to equip them with the necessary skills to get involved in the soap-making industry. Some have even secured jobs at the factory, contributing to its ongoing operations.

The educational program also includes a component for children. Created with psychosocial support experts, it offers in-depth soap and fragrance workshops. These workshops provide relief and a healthy distraction for the kids, giving them a creative outlet to express themselves.

This wonderful initiative by Khan Al Saboun is not only providing relief and shelter to those in need but also empoering the displaced through education, skill-building, and job opportunities amid challenging times.
