Netflix Teases New Film Starring Nadine Labaki

The streaming giant has officially joined forces with The Sand Castle, a highly anticipated thriller that marks the feature film debut of acclaimed U.S. director Matty Brown. Set to premiere globally on Netflix on January 24, 2025, the film stars Lebanese filmmaker and actor Nadine Labaki, reuniting her with Capernaum stars Zain and Reman Al Rafeea. The ensemble cast also includes Palestinian actor Ziad Bakri.

The Sand Castle tells the gripping story of an Arab family of four stranded on a deceptively idyllic island. As the family settles in, they begin to uncover dark secrets hidden within the island. They attempt to shield these secrets from the youngest family member, Jana.

Brown, known for his Emmy-nominated short films, brings his storytelling expertise to this feature-length thriller. He crafts an intense and mysterious narrative, already drawing early attention. First-look images, recently shared on social media, offer a promising glimpse into the upcoming release.
