The ongoing aggressions against Dahye have left the once buzzing suburb desolate after many of its residents were forcibly displaced. Despite the devastation, a young Lebanese man continues to visit his childhood dekkene to buy snacks.
Hasan Raad visits the small shop every day, having made a habit of buying his snacks there as a child. Although the shop’s owner is nowhere to be seen, Raad still makes sure to pay for his items for when they can finally return.
He captioned the video: “The psychological war our enemy is waging must be fought with steadfastness. We won’t let it affect our lives or weaken our will. We’ll exercise our natural right to life because Lebanon was created for life.”
