Tiro Association for Arts Provides Support to Displaced Children

The Tiro Association for Arts (TAA) is a non-profit organization that is revitalizing cultural spaces in marginalized areas in Lebanon. It recently opened the Lebanese national theaters in Tyre and Tripoli to provide support for forcibly displaced children.

Over the past few years, the TAA has been working to revive cultural spaces across the country, including Ampere Cinema in Tripoli, Al Hamra and Stars Cinema in Nabatieh, Rivoli Cinema in Tyre, and Le Colisée in Hamra. Their goal is to transform these venues into free cultural spaces that host training workshops, festivals, and artistic performances.

In light of the recent circumstances, TAA has opened the national theaters in Tyre and Tripoli to support those who have been displaced from their homes. Their team will be providing free training workshops and film screenings to displaced children.

Actor and director Kassem Istanbouli said that this is the only way to get their minds off the war. He also added, “it is the only way that we can build peace and hope for children and youth.”

A huge thank you to the Tiro Association for Arts, Kassem Istanbouli, and the dedicated volunteers who have been providing avenues for expression and entertainment during these horrific times.
