In a bid to facilitate relief efforts, Purpl is connecting international donors to Lebanon with their digital wallet. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use this money transfer service, whether you’re a sender or a receiver.

If you’re a sender

You want to support initiatives in Lebanon that are gathering donations but don’t know how? It’s actually super simple. Purpl lets you transfer money from 46+ countries to Lebanon!

1. Connect your international bank account to the app Paysend or Remitly

2. Send your donation to the receiver’s Purpl account using their phone number. The transfer will happen instantly!

The receiver can cash out at any Banque Libano-Française ATM with 0 cash out fees, or at OMT with 0.5% cash out fees. The best part is that the receiver does not require a bank account to make the transaction. All they need is a Purpl account, so the process is both safe and hassle-free.

If you’re a receiver

The first thing you need to do is set up your Purpl account. Here’s how to do it:

1 . Download the free app here

2. Create an account and write your name the same way it’s written on your ID or passport

3. Enter your phone number and email, then verify your account using an OTP that you’ll receive via SMS

4. Verify it’s you on the app by scanning a government-issued document and taking a selfie to verify that your face matches

You don’t need a bank account to cash out the money you receive via Purpl. On the app, you can locate the nearest Banque Libano-Française ATM and withdraw the money with 0 cash out fees.
