Here’s How You Can Help Displaced Families in Lebanon

With thousands of displaced families in need of support across Lebanon, individual efforts and local initiatives are stepping up to provide aid. Here’s how you can help, get involved, and make a difference.

1. Support existing initiatives that are gathering donations

Here’s a list of 25+ initiatives that are gathering donations that are not limited to monetary support. Basic necessities are needed, including medications, sanitary products, blankets, pillows, clothing, among other items.

You can also support animal rescue efforts in South Lebanon. Click here to find a number of amazing initiatives that need your help so that they can feed strays, provide them with medical attention, and relocate them to safe shelters.

2. Look for volunteer opportunities

A number of initiatives have posted calls for volunteers, including:

a) Offre Joie in their Mar Mikhael Center

Offre Joie needs help in their community kitchen and has also posted a call for volunteer drivers. Check out their Instagram for details.

b) A R T I C K L E

This is a call for architects, interior designers, and engineers (including students and fresh graduates) who can help with the preparation and evaluation of shelters.

c) May Al-Zahrieh School in Tripoli

May Al-Zahrieh School in Tripoli is housing 1,000+ displaced individuals, and they need all the help they can get.

d) The Bake Atelier in Sodeco

The Bake Atelier needs help in their community kitchen so that they can prepare meals for displaced families.

3. Donate blood to nearby blood banks and donation centers

We made a list of blood donation centers across Lebanon here. Make sure you read everything you need to know about the process, as well as the eligibility criteria, before you visit a donation center.

5. Make individual efforts to support your community

If you’re located near a center or school hosting displaced families, consider reaching out to them directly. A quick phone call can help you understand their immediate needs—whether it’s food, clothing, mattresses, or hygiene products—so you can provide the most useful donations.

For example, menstrual hygiene products are in high demand but frequently overlooked. Each location may have specific requests, and by asking in advance, you can ensure that your contribution makes the greatest impact.
