The occupation’s recent onslaught across Lebanese territories claimed the lives of at least 569 citizens and forced the displacement of over 500,000 from the south. Many fled to Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport in hopes of catching any available flight out of the country, but several airlines have suspended their flights to and from Beirut due to the escalations.
Cyprus Airways, Emirates, Flydubai, Air Arabia, Iraqi Airways, Qatar Airways, and Etihad Airways recently suspended flights to Beirut. Additional cancellations include:
– Lufthansa suspended flights to Beirut until 26 October.
– Air France cancelled flights until 1 October.
– Romanian airline TAROM suspended flights until 4 October.
– German airline Sundair suspended flights from Berlin to Beirut until 30 September.
– Pegasus Airlines cancelled four flights scheduled for Tuesday.
– EgyptAir cancelled flights from Cairo to Beirut until the situation stabilizes.
– Turkish Airlines cancelled flights scheduled for 24 and 25 September.
– Royal Jordanian suspended flights to Beirut until further notice.
Middle East Airlines is currently operating normally and has arranged additional flights to compensate for the suspended flights. There has been a 30 to 40% drop in flights from Beirut’s airport.
