Lebanese Powerlifter Crowned Junior World Champion

This has been an incredible year for Lebanese athletes who are absolutely killing it on international stages. We’re proud to report that Lebanon has brought home the gold in the 2024 Powerlifting Championships in Malta! Lebanese powerlifter Yara El Haddad left her mark with an impressive total lift of 397.5kg, securing first place in the 52kg junior class.

Following Joya Khairallah’s world record deadlift at last year’s championship and Etienne El Chaer shattering the Deadlift World Record in the 120kg class only a few months back, Lebanon has firmly established itself on the powerlifting map. These athletes are a force to be reckoned with at every world championship.

Congratulations to Yara who showcased impressive strength and determination. Her total deadlift is a remarkable achievement, and her victory highlights the growing talent in Lebanese powerlifting. We’re excited to watch this sport grow and see more Lebanese athletes succeed internationally!
