The 2024 Summer Paralympic Games just started, and we’re proud to report that Lebanon will be represented by athlete Arz Zahreddine this year.
Zahreddine will be participating in the 100m T64 race (under the sport class of lower limb/s competing with prosthesis affected by limb deficiency and leg length difference).
Zahreddine experienced a car accident back in 2002 when he was only 3 years old, leading to the amputation of his right leg. He underwent about 19 operations between the age of 3 and 14.
He chose to conquer his challenges through sports, starting with fencing before transitioning to athletics. Three years ago, he competed in the Tokyo Olympics. Last year, he won the gold medal in the 200m at the Francophone Games and holds the title of the fastest man in the 100m across West Asia and the Arab world.

Best of luck, Arz!
