The hotel had shuttered its doors during the October 2019 protests, after which it was severely damaged following the devastating August 4 port blast.

The beloved luxury hotel opened its Beirut location back in 2009, a lively addition to the city following a period of political and economic turbulence. The hotel’s unique blend of contemporary design and classic elegance, along with its panoramic rooftop views, made it a symbol of modern Beirut.

The reconstruction work, which began earlier this year, suggests a possible restoration and reopening of Le Gray. While there has been no official announcement regarding whether these efforts will finish any time soon, the restoration efforts seem promising.
