This Lebanese teta is taking the modeling world by storm, and it’s hard not to be obsessed. If you haven’t heard of the iconic Hoda Ziade, let us fill you in.
Ziade, a senior model who began her career not too long ago, discovered her love for modeling when her grandson, Eric Mathieu Ritter, asked her to pose for a shoot for his brand, Emergency Room. Founded in 2018, this popular upcycling brand catapulted Ziade’s modeling career when she was 80.
She embodied the brand’s dedication to individuality and inclusivity since its launch with her timeless elegance. And although she claims she’s no professional, she’s undeniably a natural on camera!
Eric was able to help his grandmother out of mourning after her husband’s passing, changing her out of her black clothes and into bold outfits. His keen eye for fashion and modeling realized his grandmother’s effortless grace and natural talent for the craft. She quickly became an integral part of his creative vision.
In an interview with VICE Arabia, she admits that, deep down, she always knew she was meant to model. It was a dream she couldn’t fulfill when she was much younger. After getting married, she focused entirely on her family.
Apart from Emergency Room, she has since posed for many brands, including Casablanca, Tony Ward Couture, Salim Azzam. She also was the star of campaigns for Marie Claire Arabia and Almaza Beer.
This Lebanese teta champions inclusivity and diversity by challenging beauty norms in the fashion and modeling industry. It comes as no surprise that she’s become a source of inspiration for many.
So, are you as obsessed with her as we are yet? Make sure you check out her Instagram for any upcoming campaigns. And we thought our tetas couldn’t get any cooler.
