11 Things Active People Do In Lebanon…But Why

Are you a judgmental inactive person? Well, so are we. There are so many active/athletic people in Lebanon, and they do some bizarre things that we don’t quite understand. Here are 11 of those things.

1. Power walking on Corniche Al Manara in 35 degree heat

This has to be a superpower because no regular human can handle that.

2. Going for a swim in ice cold seawater mid-February

Now why would you do that?

3. Always being shirtless in public

This has to stop. We don’t wanna see that.

4. Wearing that universal athletic fit: cap, sunglasses, tank top, and running shorts

And the insane tan is part of the outfit.

5. Voluntarily going on bike rides around the city…for fun

You mean you don’t get on a bike only once every 5-6 years?

6. Planning group hikes through the Lebanese cedar trees literally every season

You have to see the cedars in summer, fall, winter, and spring. We’re not sure why.

7. Participating in the Beirut marathon (and posting about it)

A couple of stories of them running, one or two of their running partners, and one of their medal for completing the marathon. Don’t forget a carousel post to spare.

8. Trying any and every “healthy” spot in the city

The Phew in Badaro? Been there. The Protein Bar in Minet El-Hosn? Regulars. The Core in Saifi? Their cousins own it.

9. Making you wonder if they’re even employed because they keep posting workouts/activities

Why are you at the gym at 11 AM? What job allows you to be at the gym at 11 AM so we can also apply?

10. Trying to get people to join their athletic cult

No thanks <3

11. Having some sort of promo code for a Lebanese sportswear brand

Yes we’d love 10% off sportswear that we’ll probably never wear.
