Child Abuse Ring Busted In Lebanon, Linked To Prominent TikToker

The Internal Security Forces (ISF) issued a statement last night regarding the arrest of seven individuals involved in a child abuse ring in Lebanon after a month-long investigation by the Cybercrime and Intellectual Property Bureau. Unfortunately, the number of people involved is actually around 30, yet no official statements have been released.

According to Al Jadeed, the suspects used the popular social media app TikTok to lure minors under the pretense of creating content for their platforms. They also reported that one of the individuals implicated is a famous TikToker who runs a men’s hair salon and frequently uploads videos featuring young boys on his platform. There is speculation that this individual is Hairzone’s George Mobayed, whose TikTok platform has amassed over 600,000 followers.

Non-profit organization Himaya reported that cases of sexual violence against children witnessed an alarming increase from 10% to 12% between 2020 and 2022.

This increase underscores the urgent need for heightened awareness and preventative measures to protect vulnerable children from such heinous crimes, especially via social media platforms like TikTok.
