Kaake Trabolsiye And Bonjus For Only 1,000LL In Tripoli?

Remember when we could buy most things for 1,000 LL? Back when our casual outings didn’t need more than 20,000LL, and when our manouche and kaake cravings were satisfied no more than 1,500LL…we miss those days. I don’t really remember the last time I saw a 1,000LL bill, but I guess the 100,000LL is almost identical so that counts.

Well, we’re happy to share that the streets of Tripoli can now reminisce ayem el 3ez because of a kind kaak vendor who decided to go back in time and offer his customers a kaake trabolsiye with Bonjus for only 1,000LL. Ten years ago, a plain kaake was 500LL and 750LL with veggies.

Cooking up kaake trabolsiye right from the source, the vendor won hearts with this wonderful initiative that wanted to make the traditional bite accessible to all.

Tripoli is known to be one of the poorest cities in Lebanon, even before the crisis. Despite being a “city of billionaires“, many families struggle to secure stable income and maintain a stable quality of life, falling below the poverty line.
