‘Tis the season for endless coffee dates with all your besties who are coming in from abroad! If you’re looking to jazz up your routine and hit up some new coffee shops, here are eight new spots that are well worth a try in Beirut.
1. Neo, Badaro
The beloved croissant spot from Achrafieh has expanded into a stunning (and massive!) cafe and restaurant on the bustle main street of Badaro. Everything from freshly baked bread and pastries to all the delectable fresh dishes your heart can desire can be found here. Drop by for coffee and a sweet treat, or even a savory breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
We recommend you pair your silky smooth cappuccino with a freshly baked waffle.
2. Levant, Gemmayze
“Sweet moments, local delicacies.” That’s the delightful self-presentation of this new pastry and coffee shop. As the name suggests, the space is quintessentially Levantine, with beautiful patterned tile and old-school “ahwe” chairs that will remind you of your jeddo.
Pair your Lebanese coffee with sfouf b debs, nammoura, meghli….and virtually every other Levantine sweet you could be craving.
3. DRIPD, Gemmayze
Freshly-brewed coffee, smoothies, sandwiches, and more at this new Gemmayze gem!
Drop by for an iced latte and a fresh bake while you people watch from their wonderful street-facing windows.
4. Cafe Kunafe 1881, Gemmayze
We think every café should be serving up cheesy delights with every coffee order, just like this one in Gemmayze. Café Kunafé quickly became a favorite among the locals, with their fresh bakes, coffee, and most importantly, their traditional knefeh.
And if you’re wondering, the 1881 refers to the legendary Hallab 1881 knefe that is served at their cafe! Not a fan of knefe? Weird. But, okay. Try their indulgent Nutella croissants!
5. Zita Beirut, Gemmayze
You know and love their Fidar guesthouse, but did you know that Zita has now opened a delightful new bed and breakfast in Gemmayze? Zita Beirut boasts 6 beautifully designed rooms and their lobby cafe is one of the neighborhood’s most delightful gems.
Drop by for a coffee and some people-watching.
6. Vernice Creative Cafe, Koreitem
This creative café is a wonderful space that allows you to unleash your creativity while you enjoy a hearty bite. Boasting a multitude of art workshops, you can chow down on elevated meals and vibrant bowls as you learn watercolor techniques or abstract art methods.
We don’t know about you, but we’d love to kickstart our day with a bite of their indulgent lemon chia seed cake while taking part in one of their workshops.
7. Nayla, Achrafieh
A vibrant spot in the heart of Achrafieh, Nayla enjoys the charm of our favorite Beirut cafes. The café boasts a beautifully cozy space that is ideal for a casual coffee date or an afternoon brunch with your friends.
Eat, sip, and shop at this wonderful restaurant, bar, cafe, and concept store all wrapped into one. Pair one of their exceptional coffees with the bake of the day (like the heavenly triple chocolate cake!).
8. N Cafe by Noura, Minet el Hosn
Iconic patisserie and chocolaterie Noura has unveiled their breathtaking new café in the heart of Beirut. Situated on the ground floor of the iconic Phoenicia Hotel, N Cafe by Noura is a chic and stunning fusion of traditional elegance and contemporary flair.
Though so much more than a coffee shop, you can drop by for a sweet treat and a coffee and extend your stay for a delectable lunch.
