Lady Madonna Turns Heads In Latest Vogue Issue

The illustrious Lady Madonna celebrated 50 years in the entertainment industry in the most iconic way possible—with a feature in the latest Vogue Arabia issue.

The Lebanese icon is commended for her major contributions to the performing arts industry in Lebanon and the Arab World. Her vivacious personality, daring fashion sense, and overall love for the arts both shocked and mesmerized crowds since her debut as an artist.

Born Madonna Antoine Arnita, Lady Madonna established herself not only as an amazing performer but also a trendsetter. In the words of Lebanese designer Ziad Nseir, “She introduced feathers in a Broadway style with heavily beaded bodysuits and daring outfits like we see Beyoncé and J Lo wearing today; except Madonna did it 50 years ago”.

She pursued her career in the arts at a young age, as she came from a family of composers and painters. Her claim to fame primarily set its course back in the 1980s, following the start of the Lebanese civil war. Nseir adds, “Lady Madonna offered the perfect canvas in the aftermath of Lebanon’s civil war for designers to go wild with their ideas”.

The Vogue Arabia feature includes very Lady Madonna-esque covers to perfectly capture her vibrant presence as one of the region’s most iconic avant-gardists. Now at the age of 62, she continues to be celebrated for her talents.
