12 Lebanese Memories To Use For Your Next Tattoo Appointment

If you love getting tattoos that salute Lebanese culture, then this article is for you! We’re tired of seeing the same fenjen, postage stamp, and Beirut written in obscure calligraphy. Here are some of our favorite Lebanese memories that would make for unique tattoos.

P.S. We are not tattoo artists, so we’re going to need an expert to design/visualize these for us.

1. The iconic Zaatar and Bonjus combo

Having that iconic combo stamped on your body is a whole other level of dedication, but it’s still a great tattoo that you definitely won’t regret. You might be craving it frequently though…

We all remember craving those delicious butter cookies meant setting ourselves up for disappointment, but we still opened them in hopes of miraculously finding cookies. A symbol of perseverance.

3. This shoe-shaped candy

If you like colored tattoos, then this would be a cute and colorful addition to your skin, especially if this was your favorite candy growing up!

4. Teleferique du Liban

This doesn’t need an explanation. Every Lebanese person has memories of them visiting Harissa and riding the Teleferique, so why not commemorate it with a tattoo?

5. Baskot w ra7a

Another yummy dessert that only tasted good when our teta prepared it for us after a family lunch. Yes, we know they’re Turkish. Did you think those fenjen tattoos you were getting were actually Lebanese?

6. These beautiful triple arches

Lebanese heritage homes are a beautiful sight, whether it be the traditional ones you’ll find in the village or the more modern ones you’ll spot in Beirut.

7. Any Lebanese mezza platter

Hummus, wara2 3enab, kebbeh – all cool ideas that will make you hungry every time you look at them.

8. Olive branch (or olive oil)

It could be more sentimental if you use a picture of the olive oil container that your teta has at her home bel day3a.

9. This toy that we never won

Did anyone ever manage to win this thing? Also, did everyone suddenly lose the toy and never found it? It just disappeared off the face of the earth. Get it tattooed and you’ll never lose it again.

10. A Kaak vendor

Sundays spent 3a Corniche El Manara involved delicious kaak, helium balloons, and embarrassing family photos that we absolutely love.

11. The Briq

No explanation needed. The cold water from this briq hits way better than the coldest water you’ll get from a dispenser.

12. The 1,000 lira

RIP we’ll miss you. Turn it into a graveyard by adding the 500, 250, and 50 lira coins while you’re at it.
