If you haven’t heard the name Joya Khairallah, let us put you on this powerhouse of a Lebanese woman after she set a world record deadlift in the Junior Powerlifting Championship 2023.
The young athlete broke records with an impressive deadlift (183.5kg) and total (428.5kg) in the 52kg class.
After scoring a silver in last year’s championship, Khairallah came back with bang (and even set a new world record while she was at it). Emerging as a trailblazer in her comeback, the athlete showcased exceptional strength and determination in her performance.
The milestone not only marks her progress in her own journey, but also puts Lebanon, especially Lebanese women, on the powerlifting map.
Congratulations!
