Beloved Bistro Couqley Reopens In Gemmayze

Back in July of 2020, the beloved French bistro Couqley joined dozens of establishments in a series of closures due to severe instability in the exchange rate. Nearly a month later, their Gemmayze branch would suffer severe damage in the August 4 explosion.

Today, we’re happy to report that the iconic bistro has reopened its doors and is ready to serve you for lunch and dinner! Known for their delicious steak frites and wide array of French dishes, the space has retained its iconic design inspired by the original bistros of France, featuring hand-cut mosaic stone floors, white marble and cast zinc bars, and charming outdoor seating terraces.

It is heartwarming to see businesses regain their footing despite the economic situation in the country.

So this winter, warm yourself up with their hearty onion soup, chow down on the duck confit, and top it all off with one of the tastiest pain perdus in town.

Couqley’s Dbayeh branch remains closed for the time being.
