As the weather cools down and the leaves turn brown, it’s clear that summer has ended and back- to-school week is here once again. It’s time to say goodbye to the summer days and welcome evenings filled with hours of studying. Here are 10 things we all relate to during back-to-school week. 1. Back-to-school week is also known as Fashion Week For some reason, it is an unspoken rule that one must wear their best outfits in the first week of uni, and then settle for sweatpants and hoodies for the rest of the year. 2. Potential post-summer glow up? Let’s just hope the hours spent at the gym or in the sun have paid off.
3. There is no denying that the highlight of back-to-school week is the back-to-school shopping There’s just something exciting about getting new notebooks and pens that will likely be lost by the end of the year.
4. But first, we must re-learn how to use a pen It’s a weird feeling writing after three months of not holding a pen.
5. The struggle of fixing your sleep schedule With the long summer nights of partying until sunrise and sleeping until noon, your sleep schedule is bound to get ruined. Especially when classes would start as early as 8am.
6. The little amount of happiness you had is gone Mental breakdowns every other day are not fun 🙂
7. Actually, I think the first week back is the last time we will feel happy for a while Because when week two hits, you realize uni is not just about making friends and drinking coffee. 8. Lowkey judging the freshmen And you think to yourself, “I was not this annoying in my first year.”
9. The hardest decision you have to make is where you will sit during the semester The frustration when someone sits in your unassigned assigned seat. 10. The dreaded “introduce yourself” Suddenly, I forget everything about myself. Good luck with the new academic year! Summer will be back before you know it.
