From rundown hotels to old university campuses, here are the 6 abandoned places we visited and the stories behind them.

1. The Lebanese University‘s Faculty of Agriculture

What was once the Faculty of Agriculture for the Lebanese University became a military stronghold during the Lebanese civil war from 1988 until 1990. It’s safe to say this campus has been through it.

This traditional home was built sometime in the late 19th century, belonging to a prominent Lebanese family. The home was later abandoned during the civil war.

The once iconic restaurant that was famous for its impeccable view of the Pigeon Rocks. Stepping into La Terrasse Dbaibo, you can imagine what this spot once was (and you’ll even find old receipts from 2010).

Dating back to the 19th century, this abandoned destination displays traces of Ottoman architecture. Located only 5km away from the port, the structure suffered a lot of damages from the August 4 blast.

The famous Amrieh Hotel was built in the 60s during Lebanon’s golden era. Walk through the full chilling experience at what is known as one of the top 10 most haunted spots in Lebanon.

Located near the Amrieh Hotel, this church was built back in the 50s to be later abandoned during the civil war. However, the structure retains its beauty even today.
