General Security Reportedly Bans “Lightyear” Due To Same-Sex Kiss

Disney-Pixar’s upcoming Toy Story prequel “Lightyear” will not be released in 14 Middle Eastern and Asian countries, including Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Indonesia, and Malaysia, as it has reportedly been banned due to a scene depicting a same-sex kiss.

The UAE claimed that the movie “violated the country’s media content standards,” and although representatives from other countries did not come forward with a statement regarding the banning, the inclusion of a same-sex scene is presumably to blame.

Disney had previously faced similar issues with the release of the movies “Dr. Strange” and “Eternals”, both of which were also banned across multiple Middle Eastern and Asian countries. However, these two movies were publicly screened in Lebanon.
