From the people behind Scoozi, Napoletana, Cozmo Cafe, Metropole, and dozens of others comes a new Italian restaurant to Downtown Beirut:
Avanti.
Boubess Group opened Avanti yesterday, adding another Italian spot to Beirut’s food scene. With a massive chandelier hanging in the middle of the space, and the walls decorated with art-deco portraits of Marilyn Monroe and James Dean, Avanti has both indoor and outdoor seating available.
Located right next to Metropole, behind the temporarily closed Four Seasons Hotel, Avanti brands itself as “a classic Italian restaurant, serving you homemade Italian specialities and wood fired pizzas”.
The menu features an interesting selection of small snacks (or, cichetti). Fried zucchini slivers, four cheese flat bread, marinated olives, and small pizzettas make for the ideal appetizer or sharing dishes.
Avanti also serves up a selection of cold salads and antipasti, with a heavy focus on fresh and delicious ingredients like marinated mushrooms, fresh capers salad, and bresaola with mozzarella.
Pizza lovers will not be disappointed with the options that range from the traditional (Margherita, vegetarian, and spicy pepperoni) to the more interesting (a smoked salmon pizza with white sauce, anyone?). Their pasta selection is also varied and features all the classics!
Don’t forget to leave space for dessert and you can enjoy a tiramisu, a chocolat mou, or several other delicious offerings.
Avanti has a fully stocked bar and a selection of local and imported wines.
