Elgorithm Is Providing Free Mental Health Support To 30,000 Students In Lebanon

Breaking the stigma around mental health has been quite a journey for many Lebanese people. As a country withstanding one traumatic experience after the other, it has become easy to neglect mental health as a pressing matter.

However, just like a physical ailment that requires its own medical treatment, mental health must also be tended to. Earlier this month, Embrace reported receiving an average of 25 calls every day, a 400% increase from the 5 calls a day they used to receive back in 2019.

These numbers indicate that more and more people are seeking mental health support in order to work through issues of mental health and suicidal ideations, and so other NGOs have stepped forward to lend a helping hand to the Lebanese youth in particular.

Elgorithm, an NGO dedicated to providing access to mental health programs, just launched a new campaign called #itstartsnow! Their goal is to provide 30,000 students in Lebanon with free access to mental health resources in a bid to battle their unmet needs.

You can check out their campaign video which includes testimonies from several Lebanese youths about their mental health as they survive the trauma that follows the country.

The NGO has been working passionately and tirelessly on making mental assistance more accessible to everyone. The scope of their work focuses on schools, as they are spreading awareness and working towards breaking the stigma around mental health!

Elgorithm’s impact has reached 27 schools across Lebanon!
