ISF Reportedly Stops Vendor From Selling Coffee On Beirut’s Corniche
Lebanon’s Internal Security Forces have once again banned street vendors for “illegal” selling on Beirut’s corniche.
This time, coffee kiosk vendor Hassan was reportedly followed by security forces and banned from selling coffee, his only source of income that aids him and his family. This ridiculous implementation is confusing, as the illegality of street vendors selling for profit and the relevance of such a ban during such dire times are questionable. In a video shared on social media, Hassan wonders if they would rather he stole or killed to make a living.
Lebanese people are now deprived of their basic rights, including maintaining their business. The state is only good at prosecuting the innocent and letting criminals roam free.
